About Vellismith

Vellismith is a handcrafted silver jewelry brand rooted in the artisan tradition of West Bengal. Every piece in our collection is made by skilled karigars — craftsmen who have spent years, often decades, mastering the techniques passed down through generations.

We are built on one principle: honest pricing. We make what we make, we source what exists, and we price both honestly. We will always tell you which is which.

Vellismith is a brand of Kamadhayini Consumers Private Limited, based in Kolkata.

925 silver, also called sterling silver, contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals — typically copper. The 7.5% addition gives the silver strength and durability without compromising its purity or appearance.

Pure silver (99.9%) is too soft for everyday jewelry — it bends, scratches, and loses shape easily. 925 silver is the international standard for jewelry silver and the highest practical purity for wearable pieces.

Every Vellismith piece is 925 certified silver. We do not use silver-plated base metal in our silver range.

Our jewelry is made by karigars — skilled artisan craftsmen — in our workshop in Dakshin Jhapardah, West Bengal. West Bengal is home to some of the finest silver karigars in India, carrying techniques and traditions that go back generations.

Each piece is hand-finished. This means no two pieces are exactly identical — minor variations in texture and finish are a feature of handcraft, not a defect.

Craft — Original designs created by Vellismith and handmade by our karigars. The price reflects karigar hours, design investment, and workshop skill. These are pieces you will not find anywhere else.

Trendz — Designs created by us and produced in small batches in our workshop. Contemporary designs at fair prices.

Bazar — Wholesale-sourced market designs that are widely available. We sell these at honest market prices — the same design that popular brands sell with a brand markup, we sell without one. We are transparent about what these are and price them accordingly.

We believe you deserve to know what you are paying for. That is the whole point of the three-tier system.

Ordering

Browse the catalog at vellismith.com. Select your piece, choose any available options, and add to cart. Proceed to checkout, enter your delivery details, choose your payment method, and confirm your order.

You will receive an order confirmation via email and WhatsApp. If you do not receive a confirmation within a few hours please check your spam folder or WhatsApp us at +91-9062982656.

Yes. We accept custom design projects based on your own sketches or ideas. Custom orders are available for regular Vellismith customers as part of our community relationship.

To enquire about a custom project, use the Custom Design Enquiry option on our Contact page or WhatsApp us directly at +91-9062982656 with a description or sketch of what you have in mind. We will let you know if we can take it on, the timeline, and the pricing.

Custom pieces are made exclusively for you and cannot be returned or exchanged.

Orders can be cancelled or modified within 12 hours of placement, provided the order has not yet been dispatched. WhatsApp us immediately at +91-9062982656 if you need to make a change.

Once an order has been dispatched it cannot be cancelled or modified. This applies to all orders regardless of tier.

Yes. We work with boutiques, Instagram sellers, and international buyers for wholesale orders. For bulk enquiries please use the Wholesale or B2B option on our Contact page or email hello@vellismith.com with details of what you are looking for.

Payment

We accept all major payment methods at checkout including UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking, and wallets through our payment partner Razorpay.

We also offer Cash on Delivery (COD) for eligible domestic orders above ₹2,500. A non-refundable COD handling charge of ₹150 is collected upfront at checkout.

Yes. All payments on vellismith.com are processed through Razorpay, one of India's most trusted payment gateways. We do not store your card details. All transactions are encrypted and secure.

Vellismith will never ask for your card details, OTP, or banking passwords through WhatsApp, email, or any other channel. If you receive such a request from anyone claiming to be Vellismith, do not respond and report it to us immediately.

Failed payment amounts are automatically reversed by your bank or payment provider within 5–7 working days. We do not receive the money in a failed transaction.

If the amount has not been reversed after 7 working days, WhatsApp us at +91-9062982656 with your transaction reference number and we will help you follow up with the payment gateway.

Delivery

All orders are dispatched within up to 15 working days from order confirmation. Working days are Monday to Saturday excluding public holidays.

We are a handcraft-first business. Some pieces are in stock and can be dispatched quickly. Others are made after your order is confirmed and take longer. We will keep you updated and many orders are ready significantly before 15 working days.

Once dispatched you will receive a tracking number via WhatsApp and email.

Yes. We ship pan-India through Shiprocket's courier network. Free shipping on orders above ₹2,499. Flat ₹100 for orders below ₹2,499.

We do not currently deliver to remote or inaccessible locations where standard courier service is unavailable.

Yes. International shipping is available. All international orders are prepaid — COD is not available outside India.

  • Asia: ₹2,000 flat
  • Rest of world: ₹3,500 flat

International delivery timelines are in addition to our standard dispatch time of up to 15 working days. Customs duties and import taxes at the destination country are the responsibility of the buyer.

Once your order is dispatched you will receive a tracking number via WhatsApp and email. Use this tracking number on the courier's website or Shiprocket's tracking portal to follow your shipment.

If you have not received a tracking update within 15 working days of your order confirmation, WhatsApp us at +91-9062982656 with your order number.

Contact us within 48 hours of the marked delivery date. WhatsApp us at +91-9062982656 with your order number and we will investigate with the courier.

We work with Shiprocket which maintains GPS delivery attempt logs. In most cases of false delivery marking the logs show the courier's actual location at the time of the scan. We will use this evidence to file a claim on your behalf.

Please check with neighbours, security desk, and anyone else at your address before contacting us — sometimes packages are accepted by someone else without the recipient's knowledge.

Returns & Exchanges

We accept returns and exchanges in three situations: you received a damaged or defective piece, you received the wrong item, or your order was significantly delayed beyond our committed timeline with no communication from us.

We do not accept returns for change of mind. Please read our full Return & Exchange Policy before ordering.

  • Your order number
  • Clear photographs of the damage
  • A brief description of the issue

We will assess your claim within 48 hours and arrange an exchange, store credit, or refund depending on your preference. Return shipping for valid claims is arranged and paid by us.

Piercing jewelry — nosepins, septum rings, toerings, and other body piercing items — cannot be returned for hygiene reasons unless the piece is defective or the wrong item was sent.

If you received a defective or wrong piercing piece, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs and we will make it right.

Once we receive and verify the returned product, refunds are processed within 7 business days. The time to reflect in your account depends on your bank or payment provider — typically 3–5 additional working days.

Our primary remedy for valid claims is an exchange or store credit. If you prefer a refund to your original payment method, we process this on request.

Product Questions

No. Darkening is tarnish — a natural chemical reaction between silver and air, moisture, and skin. It is completely normal and completely reversible. It is not a defect.

To remove tarnish, gently rub the piece with a soft cloth and a small amount of plain non-gel toothpaste. Rinse with lukewarm water and dry immediately and completely. The piece will look as good as new.

Yes. Every Vellismith piece is handcrafted by a karigar. Natural variations in texture, finish, and minor dimensional differences are inherent to handmade objects — this is what makes each piece unique.

Website photographs show representative pieces. Your piece will be very similar but not photographically identical. This is a feature of handcraft and is part of what you are buying. Slight variations in finish, patina, or surface texture are not defects.

The most common nosepin stem sizes for Indian noses are 0.6mm and 0.8mm. If you have a standard piercing that has not been stretched, 0.6mm is typically the right fit. If your piercing is slightly larger or older, 0.8mm may be more comfortable.

Yes. Gold plating wears over time — this is normal and expected. We offer professional replating for regular Vellismith customers to keep your pieces looking their best for years.

Store each piece in the zip-lock pouch provided — sealed away from air is the single most effective way to slow tarnish on silver and extend the life of gold plating. Store pieces individually to prevent scratching.

Most of our stone settings use Cubic Zirconia (CZ) or high-quality glass stones. CZ is a lab-created stone that closely resembles diamond in appearance. We do not claim or imply that stones in our pieces are natural gemstones unless explicitly stated in the product description.

If a product listing mentions a specific stone, the description will specify what it is. If you are unsure about a particular piece, WhatsApp us before ordering.

Account & Privacy

No. You can checkout as a guest without creating an account. However creating an account allows you to track orders, view order history, and makes future checkouts faster.

We will never sell your data to third parties. Vellismith is a brand of Kamadhayini Consumers Private Limited which operates multiple platforms. Your data may be used across Kamadhayini's own platforms to provide you with a unified experience and relevant offers from our brands.
